President's Message

Dear APICS Hartford Supporter,

I hope all is well as warmer weather and summer are upon us!

As summer arrives, so does the end of our programming year.  We are very excited to be offering an event this June that focuses on building connections, celebrates the completion of a great programming year, and serves as an opportunity for individuals to learn about the different APICS certification courses coming in the fall.

In recognition of the continued support of the Chapter by our members and partners, the Chapter's Board of Directors has decided to make this event free of charge to APICS members, and a reduced fee for nonmembers, who register by June 6th.

If you are new to the Chapter or interested in becoming a member, this event will let you discover all the great opportunities the Chapter can offer you, your teams, and your company.  The board and I look forward to seeing new faces and old friends!

Turning to education, you may be interested to know that the APICS CPIM certification is undergoing changes to how this certification will be obtained.  Please see the education section of the newsletter that has details on the changes to the exam preparation time line.

Thank you again for your support and please review the remaining sections of this newsletter for events and news that can help your organization continue its operations excellence.

All good things,

Dan Levine

Education News

Some of you may have heard of changes coming to the APICS CPIM certification program. Starting at the end of 2017/ early 2018, the APICS CPIM will be condensed down to 2 modules instead of the current 5. We will begin offering the complete new course schedule soon. However, APICS Hartford County will still have one more CPIM Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) prep course scheduled for the Fall of 2017. Taking this course and passing the exam will count as the first module of the new CPIM format leaving you only the New 2nd module to complete.

This will be your last chance to take the BSCM prep course before the pricing increases. We expect this class to fill quickly so register today to secure your spot and to take advantage of the substantial savings offered!

If you’ve already gotten your CPIM or are looking to get your Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification, we will also be offering a Instructor led CSCP prep course this fall as well. The CSCP program is a great way to enhance your Supply Chain knowledge and understanding of your daily operations. Don’t put off getting your CSCP certification any longer, register today!
