President's Message

Dear APICS Hartford supporter,

I hope all is well. We are approaching the end of June and with it, close out the current APICS programs year.

This month we hosted our member appreciation event at Broad Brook Brewery in East Windsor, Connecticut.  Attendees were treated to a behind the scenes look at the brewing process, networking, and the chance to grow their personal supply chains.

The Chapter also recognized the following individuals and organizations for their efforts during this past year to grow Connecticut’s Supply Chain Champions!

Congratulations to:

  • Nancy Estey, CPIM, CIRM as Instructor of the Year
  • Cheryl Zebold, CSCP as Member of the Year
  • S&S Worldwide Inc. as Company of the Year
  • Hartford IMA as Partner of the Year.

As we enter July, the transition to the new Board of Directors will occur.  I would like to take this opportunity to announce that as of July 1st APICS Hartford will welcome a new president as my term comes to an end.

Michal “Mike” Jacunski, our current VP of Education, will become the next APICS Hartford Chapter president and work to continue the growth we have experienced these past few years. You may have met Mike already, as his efforts growing our education classes has been far reaching and successful. His commitment to helping people on the path to obtaining an APICS certification has been the foundation for the program's success.  I am excited to see the chapter enter this next stage, and know that Mike will continue to support and offer our members value and opportunity.

As my term ends, and I take on the new role of “VP of Trouble-making”, I would like to thank all the companies, individuals, and partner organizations who helped make these past years as fun as they were.  Working with, and benchmarking from, Connecticut businesses and professionals has provided a wealth of learning and it’s been a fantastic experience.

I want to also give special thanks to all the volunteers who participated on the board of directors over these past two years.  I cannot say enough about the hours, wisdom, and enthusiasm you have brought to the organization. The success of the Chapter is a direct result of your efforts and you have enabled APICS Hartford to be the premier operations management education society in Connecticut. Thank you!

Please review the below sections of this newsletter for additional upcoming opportunities and reflections from this past year.  Thank you all for your continued support of the Chapter and its initiatives.  For Chapter related matters my new contact information will be: past-president@apics-hartford.org.

All good things,

Dan Levine

President
