Jeremiah Bentley, PhD is an assistant professor at the
Isenberg School at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
He earned his PhD in Management (Accounting) from Cornell
University and his BS and MAcc from Brigham Young
University. His research focuses on how people distort
operating and reporting decisions and how accounting
systems can be designed to reduce the distortion.
His research has been published in the Journal of Accounting
Research and The Accounting Review and has been
presented at conferences of the Government Finance Officers
Association (GFOA), the American Accounting Association,
the European Accounting Association, and several university workshops and research symposia. His
work has been cited by the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times and has been recognized by
the Deloitte Foundation and the Institute of Management Accountants. Professor Bentley is a member
of the IMA Hartford Chapter.
